The Setup — Deck, Players, and Dealing
Tongits Go uses a standard 52-card deck with no jokers. Three players sit at the table. The dealer distributes 12 cards to each of the two non-dealer players and 13 cards to the dealer, who also draws first. The remaining cards form the central draw pile, known as the stockpile. This asymmetric deal gives the dealer a very slight initial advantage and is central to the game's strategic identity.
Card Values and Point Scoring
Every card carries a point value that counts against you if held in hand at the end of a round. Number cards (2–10) are worth their face value. Face cards — Jack, Queen, and King — are each worth 10 points. Aces are worth 1 point. The player with the lowest total point value in hand when the round ends wins. Melds — Sets and Runs
